
The first 10-nanometer processor, codenamed Ice Lake. It is based on the promising Sunny Cove microarchitecture, supports Thunderbolt 3, Wi-Fi 6, and the DL Boost deep learning acceleration system.
The first to appear will be the Ice Lake-U modification with a 15-watt thermal package. It will replace the 14-nanometer Whiskey Lake-U chips and will be used in laptops. The new product is credited with multithreading and powerful Gen11 graphics with 64 execution units.
The new product will support AVX512_VNNI cryptographic instructions for deep learning, as well as the OpenVINO framework for image recognition. In addition, Ice Lake-U promises an updated image processing processor, which will allow each laptop to support the Windows Hello system.
